Seafood Rice

It’s no secret that we all love a good bowl of Seafood Rice In fact, it’s one of the most widely consumed grains in the world — and for good reason. It’s versatile, cheap, and a great source of carbohydrates, iron, and B vitamins.

However, once you get past plain old white rice with a little salt or perhaps some garlic or onion thrown in for flavor. Well, things get a little weird. There are endless varieties of flavored rice on the market: From pandan leaves to coconut milk to pandan leaves again. (That last one was just to see if you were still paying attention.) The point is that there are so many ways to dress up your humble bowl of rice. And today we want to share with you one more variation on this classic theme: Seafood Rice!

 What You’ll Need

Rice – For this recipe, we recommend using long-grain rice like jasmine or basmati. You can also use a bowl of short-grain rice like sushi rice if you’d like a stickier texture.

Fish fillets – You can use any type of fish fillet you’d like here. Our recommendation: Salmon, halibut, or cod are all great options.

Shrimp – Again, you can use whatever shrimp you’d like. Just make sure they’re deveined. Our recommendation: Any medium-sized shrimp will work great here. – Vegetables – You can use a variety of veggies in this recipe. You can also use a combination of a few different veggies for a nice mix of textures.

Sesame seeds – You can use either white or black sesame seeds in this recipe.

Soy sauce – Any type of soy sauce will work fine here. If you’re using low sodium soy sauce, you might want to add a little extra salt to your dish.

 Step 1: Prepare your rice

First things first: Let’s get our rice cooking! If you’re using a rice cooker, follow the instructions on the rice packet. If you’re using a pot, then follow these instructions:

To begin, add two cups of water to the bottom of a medium-sized pot. – Then place two cups of uncooked long-grain rice into the pot. – Place the pot on the stove and bring it to a boil. – Once boiling, reduce to a simmer and cook for 15 minutes.

Step 2: Cook your seafood and veggies

Next, let’s get our veggies and seafood cooking. To do this, place a skillet over medium heat.

Once the skillet is hot, add one tablespoon of oil. – Then add your shrimp and vegetables.

Cook for about 5 minutes, or until your shrimp are pink and cooked through and your vegetables are tender.

Next, add one teaspoon of sesame oil, one tablespoon of soy sauce, and one tablespoon of brown sugar to the pan.

Toss everything together to coat everything with your sauce. Once your rice is done, give it a final fluff, then let it sit for about 5 minutes before serving.

Final step: Mix everything together and serve!

Finally, let’s mix everything together. Spoon your cooked rice into a bowl, then top with your cooked seafood and veggies.

Top with sesame seeds, green onions, and some extra soy sauce if you’d like.  This is great to eat on its own or serve with some other side dishes like a vegetable stir fry or miso soup.

Tips for the Easiest Ever Seafood Rice

  • Make sure to use a large enough pan to accommodate everything. You want there to be enough room for your shrimp to move around.
  • If you’re using a skillet to cook your shrimp and vegetables, use a wide skillet to give your food room to move around.
  • If you’re using a pot to cook your rice, you can use a smaller pot to avoid overcrowding.
  • You can also use a rice cooker. They’re very convenient and can hold a lot of rice, making them great for cooking larger batches. If you’re using a rice cooker, you can use less water. Rice cookers hold more water than pots, so use less water in your rice cooker than you’d use in a pot.
  • If you’re cooking with a pot, you’ll want enough water to cover your rice by at least an inch.

 Conclusion

And there you have it. The quickest, easiest, most delicious seafood rice you’ll ever eat. No fancy ingredients or cooking techniques are required. This can be made with everyday ingredients and can be ready in as little as 30 minutes. If you’re looking for a new way to spice up your dinner table, then we hope you enjoy this recipe.
