Ingredients

  • 5 lbs Sweet Potatoes peeled and chopped
  • ½ Tsp Italian Seasoning Blend
  • Sea salt and pepper, to taste

The Filling

  • Tbsp Olive Oil
  • 1 Medium Yellow Onion, diced
  • 1½ lbs Meat
  • 2 Tbsp Tomato Paste
  • 3-4 Garlic Cloves minced
  • ½ Tsp Dried Oregano
  • 1 Tbsp Smoked Paprika
  • 1 Cup Chicken
  • 1 Cup Frozen Peas or any other

Instructions For Sweet Potato Shepherd’s Pie

  • Turn the oven on to 375°F.
  • Only enough water should be added to the big saucepan with the sweet potatoes to cover them. Till the potatoes are cooked through, bring to a boil. 10 minutes or so.
  • After draining and mashing, season with Italian seasoning mix, salt, and pepper.
  • In a large nonstick pan, heat the oil over medium-high heat. After cooking the onions for 3–4 minutes, add the garlic and continue cooking for another 1–2 minutes.
  • After the chicken is cooked, add the ground meat and heat, disintegrating using a wooden spoon.
  • Add the broth, oregano, paprika, salt, and pepper after adding the tomato paste. Stir in the peas after simmering for a few minutes to decrease the liquid.
  • The beef mixture should be spread out in a 2-quart baking dish. Spread the mashed potatoes evenly from the top to the sides.
  • Bake for 25 to 30 minutes or until the potatoes begin to brown. Relax, then serve and have pleasure!

  • You can also use White potatoes in place of sweet potatoes.
